58.

I went out for a walk last night, and was close to home when I was approached by a man. A well-to-do, unthreatening older gentlemen, maybe in his 50's. Long story, short; his car was stolen, along with his wallet, which was left inside the vehicle. He told me that he just needed 20 bucks to get home, and that he would mail back to us in return. I generally think I'm a good guy, I do what I can to help people, even if I don't know them. Why? Because, should I be in his place, I'll hope for human decency. So I obliged to walk to the ATM, and help him get home. I kindly forked over a crispy Jefferson, along with my address for him to mail me the reimbursement.

Either way, I just made a deposit into the karma bank. I'm hoping he'll mail the money back to me, but in the end, I really don't care. He looked me in the eyes and promised he'd repay me. If he doesn't - he'll have to look at himself in the mirror tomorrow, and the next day.

Karma Police, by Radiohead. An absolutely amazing music video. Watch from start to finish.

Update:
Still no check. Were we duped? If so, then this man took "d-bag" to a whole other level.
