Portland Update:
Many said there’d be rain, and all I've seen is sun! Portland in the summer is like winter in Tahiti; sunny. Although I understand this trend is sloping downward towards an ultimate wet, and soggy winter, I couldn’t be happier here. 
Since I arrived, there has been ample time to get acquainted with the city, the culture, and the very relevant shock of the lack of 24 hour delis. Shout-out definitely is in order for the crew over at Perdition. Thus far, this town is lacking a good Irish pub, although the micro-brew houses aren’t too hard to get used to. 
Another gem I have discovered in Portland: Zip Cars. Why do I want to pay for gas, and insurance, when I can rent a BMW for 12 bucks an hour and not pay any of that! Having utilized my Zip Car Subaru Outback (shit, those things are everywhere out here) I made our way over to Cannon Beach. Someone told me that they filmed The Goonies out there, and if thats true, then it’s the coolest place in the world. See image below:
